Shelby's National Night Out

Just got back from Shelby's National Night Out, held at Plaster Park beside Ramblewood Apartments.
Shelby Police Officer Shannon Porter said 300 hot dogs were gone one hour into the four-hour event.

"This is one of the biggest crowds we've seen," said Shelby Police Capt. Jeff Ledford.
Notice the spray from the fire truck?
Even Mayor Ted Alexander cooled off underneath.
"It felt good, I'll tell you what," he smiled.

Mayor Ted was dry in no time at all! I mean, dry all over from the extreme heat! Around 7ish, Jeff said he had served up 1,000 hotdogs, which is the total number served last year.

It was great to see such a large crowd. The singing was fantastic and I enjoyed watching the K-9s attack. Lol...I would not want to be the one in the bad if any of those dogs were around.

We had a table set up for Crime Stoppers too this time and while we started taking things down around 8:30pm, you could still hear singing and laughing.
