Crime: Breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny
Date reported: Aug. 6, 1:43 p.m.
Address: Golden Corral parking lot, 1108 E. Dixon Blvd.
Description: Leon Brown reported $750 in damages to his Dodge Ram after someone stole four Falcon tires and the rims from the vehicle. Brown told police the incident happened Aug. 3 between 8 and 9 p.m.

Address: 302 Borders Road, Shelby
Description: Ellen Broome, of the home, told police someone stole a gas grill, valued at $500, and a LP gas tank labeled “Broome” from her carport. Mrs. Broome said the items were last seen Aug. 4 at 8 p.m. and she noticed them missing the following day.

Crime: Possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine, impede flow of traffic
Date reported: Aug. 6, 12:50 a.m.
Address: Near Chesnut and Oakley streets
Description: Police found Jamerus Marquis Sutton, 23, walking in the roadway with a cup of alcohol in his hand. After Sutton said the alcohol was Hennessy liquor, he was patted down and officers found a small clear bag of what later tested positive as crack cocaine. Sutton also had in his possession two $20 bills which, according to the police report, is a common price for one rock of crack cocaine. Sutton had trouble keeping his balance as he was booked into the jail due to the effects of the alcohol, the report read.
