House Fire in Waco

The Waco Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire earlier this afternoon on AW Black Street, next door to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

It didn't appear as though anyone was hurt in the fire. The blaze was out by the time I got there, around 3:30 p.m., but firefighters were still going through the home. Many window screens on both floors had been knocked out.

One woman outside the home was crying and was consoled by others but their voices were easily drowned out by the firefighting equipment hooked up to several of the half dozen firetrucks on the street. There didn't appear to be much damage to the outside of the home.

Attempts to contact firefighters for comment later in the afternoon were unsuccessful.
