Father Arrested for Infant's Death
A press release sent earlier this afternoon from Shelby Police:
On August 22, 2007 the Shelby Police Department responded to a report of an infant being unable to breath at 109 Brookhill Drive. The 5 ½ month old infant, Jace Barrow, DOB 3/5/07, was transported to Cleveland Regional Medical Center and airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. The child died the next day on August 23rd from head trauma.
An investigation by Detectives of the Shelby Police Department led to a warrant for First Degree Murder being obtained on 9/5/07 for the infant’s Father, Chad Jarrett Barrow, DOB 11/25/80 of 109 Brookhill Dr. in Shelby. Barrow was picked up at the home of relatives in Salisbury at approximately 7:30 a.m. today. Shelby Police Detectives have brought Barrow back to Cleveland County where he was processed at the Cleveland County Law Enforcement Center and is being held without bond.
