Caught in the Rain
This was the scene around 2:30 p.m. when a strong yet brief rainstorm hit Shelby.
I pulled into Cleveland Mall a few minutes earlier, just as the thunder began. Moments later, the rainfall hit so hard it could be heard inside the building.
As I turned the corner to leave the mall, a few onlookers were staring in awe of what they saw outside the door.
"It looks like snow," one person said, commenting on how thick the rain was.
If you look just beyond the trash can in this photo, you can see one person sprinting their way inside from the parking lot.
This is what I saw after running through the parking lot to get to my car.
Within minutes, the storm dissipated. An hour later, it was back to being sunny ...
