Shelby PD Responds
Shelby Police Capt. Jeff Ledford said an exit interview Wednesday would give them an idea as to whether they will be granted reaccreditation status.
The panel will make a recommendation to CALEA (The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.) and submit a 20 to 30 page assessment. Shelby officers will then speak in front of a panel in Colorado Springs, Co. in November.
Following that, the decision will be made to grant or deny reaccreditation.
