Community Garden

Just got back from the Project Safe Neighborhood meeting at West Shelby's community garden, 312 McBrayer St.

The garden has come a long way since plots were first dug up a few weeks ago. Several churches and families and even a school have begun planting vegetables, the results of which can already be seen.

There's a lot of progress but a lot of help is still needed when it comes to donations of both money and supplies. If you would like more information, or to donate, contact Julie Young at (704) 484-8996.

I plan to have a story on the garden in the paper this weekend.
