Shelby Police Sgt. Steve Seate said 16 tips came in over the past month to CrimeStoppers, five of which were for the county and the remainder for the city.
Seate asked for a payout regarding two arrests made in breaking and enterings at Duke Power, on US-74 near Cleveland Mall, in which copper was reported stolen but later recovered. Two individuals were arrested for the crime.
"Quite a substantial amount" of copper was recovered, Seate said.
Seate suggested the tipster receive $500 or more for their information which led to the arrests.
